Gbr. 4. Rangkaian pada kotak transformer dan relay. Quick & dirty made On Wed, Jan 11, 2012 at 10:57 AM, Jo, YC0LOW Dear Hal, N4GG Just installed my k9ay dual loop. It's working okay in terms of its F/B ratios. I am not happy yet with F/B to SW and NW directions. I heard no noise level differences between those two in comparison to their opposite directions, i.e. NE 30° (vy good for JAs on 160m, S5) vs SW 210° (S3) and SE 120° (good for VK0TH on 80m S6) vs NW 300° (S3). All were reports on 10th Jan. 2012, after my SS time, UTC. All circuits' components and connections are thoroughly checked and installed correctly. I must add the control + coax cables are NOT buried - but laid on top of the earth ground. They're passing in straight line to my hamshack in the middle space at the right angle between NW and SW loop wires. Also, I haven't put any snap-on ferrite beads on cables, yet. My toploaded vertical 160m TX antenna (18mtrs height in fiberglass pole, three sloping wires @ 15 mtrs in length, at 45 degrees with bunch of elevated radials (feedpoint's height: 3 mtrs above the ground - in two-storey building) is located in direction of NW loop wire of the K9AY. Distance between the two antennas is about 50 meters away. Could this be the problem, pse? I'd be vy grateful if you could give me any hints to remedy these. Tnx es 73 de Jo, YC0LOW On Thu, Jan 12, 2012 at 11:28 PM, Hal Kennedy, N4GG
Your box looks FB to me – I would not change it!
The transmit vertical could be causing a problem.
If it is NW of the antenna, and it is causing trouble, then you will not see a good null to the NW. The easy test here is to disconnect the matching network at the base of that antenna and see what changes….
